Diversion to Assets (D2A)
Diversion to Assets (D2A) is a transformative initiative designed to provide much-needed support to teens who have had their first encounter with the legal system. At Boys & Girls Clubs, we understand that a single misstep does not define a young person's future. Our D2A program aims to guide these teens towards a brighter path by making them accountable and connecting them with positive influences.
Through D2A, we actively engage teens with caring adults and peers who serve as role models. These connections are vital in reinforcing personal asset development, which include building self-esteem, fostering resilience, and nurturing a sense of responsibility. By immersing teens in a network of supportive relationships, we help them recognize their potential and the positive impact they can have within their communities.
Additionally, D2A emphasizes the importance of work readiness skills. By providing opportunities for skill development and hands-on experiences, we prepare teens for future employment and help them envision a productive and fulfilling career path. Our goal is to instill a sense of purpose and motivation that reduces the likelihood of reoffending. Through our comprehensive approach, D2A strives to transform a challenging moment into a pivotal turning point, guiding teens towards a successful and enriching future.
